Software To Get The Job Done
Attention to all your producers who want to find out how to make dubstep music.
My favorite producers (Benga, Rusko and Skream) produce dubstep in the exact same way, using what is essentially cheap software. The first program that everyone should be looking at is Dubturbo.
There are a wide variety of sequencing platforms that are ideal to be engaged as a dubstep program. The first matter that should be noted, is your pre-existing ability to produce music. For Dubturbo, Visit Our REVIEW PAGE HERE
You do not need an expert on the subject, nor do you need much musical ability, though you do need to be capable of operating technical software. So, if you have some prior knowledge of making music with software, perhaps you should move on to one of the more expensive options as detailed on the review website (link at bottom).
For now I want to address:
Dubturbo
The beauty of this beat making software is that it is the most user friendly application on the market. It is just as capable as its entry level rivals such as FL Studio, except it does cost $200.00+ like FL. In fact it is about six times cheaper.
Another benefit is that it can be downloaded from the official website straight away, and you can get stuck into producing some dubstep right now.
Many of the popular applications are not compatible with PC and Mac, however this one is. With amazing standard sound kits, there are a number of upgrade sound kits and samples available, which are recommended to download to increase your arsenal.
With one click, export the track into an mp3 that can be burned onto CD or taken on your iPod.
How To Make Dubstep
The best place to start with making dubstep is to listen to your favorite DJ, from whom you will draw some inspiration.
When getting started, I am not advising to copy their track by any means, we are talking about "borrowing" from the essentials. Is it going to be a slow atmospheric, or fast breakbeat style dubstep track?
Pay close attention to where the kick drum, snare and hi-hats are placed in the beat. When you have the pattern down, start building a similar beat in your sequencer.
Don't worry about setting the drum sounds now, you can change them later. Just get the beat in place and don't get distracted by the "cosmetics" of the track.
Next you will obviously want to focus on the most important element of your dubstep track: the bass.
Again, listen to some of your favorite tracks for the melodies used. Don't worry about the sound, or the wobble, that can be done later. Again, try to listen to the notes that are actually played, as this is where you want to start. Most dubstep bass lines are very simple, so select a key on the lower range of the piano and start messing with a melody. You will find that making sick dubstep and drum and bass beats, is something that almost anyone can learn in no time at all.

Cool, I didn't know there was software out there made especially for dubstep. I was just going to get Cubase and mess around with that. I'll have to check this out.
